I was referred to Jerard through my legal program at work as I was facing a custody issue involving CPS. Jerard was great through the whole 18-month process. Court date after court date, he remained positive and assured me we would get through this and it would all be a terrible memory to look back at one day. The day finally came right before Christmas of 2019 and my children were put back into my custody full time and the CPS case was dismissed. Best Christmas present ever! As a woman who was isolated in a very small town in the U.P of Michigan, I didn't know who to turn to when I needed to file for divorce. Mr. Jerard Scanland called me minutes after I submitted my information. Once on the phone I was hysterical "scared and crying", Mr. Scanland was very professional, listened to me and my concerns even got me to stop crying. This took place right after the Christmas Holiday on the 28th of December 2020- I had no idea what I was doing, Mr. Scanland eased my worries and concerns. Never made me false promises but instead helped guide me and provided much needed knowledge about my current situation as well as helping me prepare for after the divorce. At the time I was filing I had no job, was in a small town in the upper peninsula of Michigan, my then husband drained the bank account leaving me $9.35 cents. I was made fun of for choosing a lawyer so far away from me. THAT DIDNT MATTER! Even though I was miles away from South Gate MI, I never had an issue with response- my worries were always eased when I'd speak to Jerard and he assured me he was on top of my requests. As of April 2021 my divorce finalized, I was awarded what I wanted and needed and today because I listened to Jerard on how to prepare myself for after divorce, I now live comfortably with my dog working at an amazing company.
